Bill Heirtzler, Jr.

Bill Heirtzler, Jr. has been named Advertising Director of The Daily Iberian in New Iberia, La., by Will Chapman, the newspaper’s publisher.

Heirtzler has worked for newspapers and in advertising for more than 30 years, starting with the Clarion Ledger/Jackson News in Jackson, Miss., and including 25 years at The Town Talk in Alexandria, La., working for McCormick & Co., Central Newspapers and then Gannett which each owned that operation.

Heirtzler has been involved in managing ad departments and ad staffs for most of his newspaper career.

“We are most fortunate to have someone of Bill’s experience and abilities join our newspaper staff. He’s got great experience and ideas related to our print and digital efforts, that offer benefits to our reader and advertisers, as well as knowledge that he can impart to help our staff better serve our customers,” said Chapman.

Heirtzler is a native of Vicksburg, Miss., and has a marketing degree from the University of Mississippi.

He’s been involved with a variety of organizations like the Better Business Bureau, chamber of commerce, United Way, the Louisiana Press Association and others.

His wife Amy is a teacher. They’ve got three children, son Jake and daughter Haley who are out on their own, son Will who just enrolled at the Mississippi State University.
