Corporate Director of Advertising & Digital, has been with Wick Communications since 2010.
Hefley’s role includes handling national print & digital advertising sales for all Wick locations. She is responsible for the Digital Media department that handles all facets of digital strategy, new vendor product development and brand development for print & digital & sales to national agencies and major retailers. She also works directly with senior corporate management, publishers, and ad directors on strategies for their local markets to increase revenue, staff structure as well as training development.
Currently oversees the Central Design Graphics hub responsible for ad production for all 20+ newspapers.
Hefley is a native of Topeka, Kansas and studied journalism at Washburn University and Kansas State University before beginning her newspaper career working in ad sales and sales management at the Wichita Eagle from 1981 to 1988. She then joined Tucson Newspapers, the JOA for the Arizona Daily Star & Tucson Citizen and was there for 15 years.
As national advertising director at the San Diego Union-Tribune, Hefley co-chaired the newspaper’s task force on the 2003 Super Bowl, was the publisher of a niche publication on health and fitness and increased revenue in several national ad categories.
Just prior to joining Wick, Hefley was Chief Operating Officer for LocalMedia Association’s former advertising division, LocalPoint Media for more than two years. LocalPoint Media represented more than 900 suburban and community newspapers. Hefley’s role in national sales focused on travel and tourism, entertainment, major retail and financial services.
She and her husband, David, a sales executive for a commercial printer, live in Tucson and are avid Arizona Wildcat basketball fans. They are the parents of two adult daughters who work in media & marketing and two beautiful grandchildren, Hailey and Dylan.
