Clay Lambert has worked in daily and weekly newspapers for more than 25 years.
Lambert has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Colorado State University, where he served as editor-in-chief of the daily Collegian.
After college, he worked for nearly two decades as both a reporter and editor for dailies within the Gannett and Cox chains. He served as government reporter, assistant sports editor and senior writer for the Gainesville Times in suburban Atlanta. Lambert also worked for several years as a general assignment reporter for the Palm Beach Post in South Florida. In addition, he served as an editor for the Independent Newspaper Group in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Lambert has been editor of Wick’s Half Moon Bay Review for the last nine years, a period that included a complete redesign of the paper and substantial improvement of the online presence. The Review has earned more than 40 top awards from the California Newspaper Publishers’ Association under his tenure and his former Review reporters now work at the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Google News and in online news. In 2010, the Local Media Association (then the Suburban Newspaper Association) named Lambert the nation’s top small weekly newspaper editor.
