Wick editor speaks at Stanford

Clay LambertWick Editorial Director Clay Lambert was honored to speak at a graduate journalism seminar at Stanford University on May 2. Lambert, who also serves as editor of the Half Moon Bay Review, was invited to speak by journalism instructor R.B. Brenner, the one-time Sunday editor of the Washington Post.

The lunchtime seminar has included some of the most innovative people in the media, including executives from the Huffington Post, Google News and YouTube. Students were most interested in the Half Moon Bay Review’s place in that modern media landscape. They asked probing questions about the newspaper’s business model, how the staff communicates to readers through social media and whether the Review’s success would translate to other communities.

The newspaper has a longstanding and fruitful connection to Stanford, having hired graduates and accepted interns in the past. To read student questions and comments regarding the Review, visit comm291.com.
