Roanoke Rapids Earns a 1st Place in NNA Awards

Prospectus 2013​​The National Newspaper Association just announced the winners of their 2014 Better Newspaper Contest and Better Newspaper Advertising Contest.​The Daily Herald, Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina earned a First Place, Best Sales Promotion Section or Edition, Daily Division for its Prospectus Magazine.Prospectus is an annual magazine focused on business and industry in Halifax County, NC. It is published by The Daily Herald in partnership with Halifax County Economic Development Commission.The judges' comments noted, "Dynamic and nicely put together. Articles have their own look and feel for each. Great magazine. Not a newspaper feel in a magazine format.""Our staff did a terrific job bringing together a selection of interesting articles, creative design and extraordinary advertising," publisher Titus Workman said. "Obviously, we're all thrilled to have this national recognition."Winners will be recognized at the award reception held Saturday, Oct. 4, during NNA’s 128th Annual Convention & Trade Show ​in San Antonio​.
