Green Valley News Wins Silver Award for Magazine Design
The Green Valley News won the Silver Award in the Magazine Design category for the 2024 Discover Southern Arizona Magazine at the 2024 Tucson American Advertising Awards on March 6, 2025, at Loews Ventana Canyon Resort.
The magazine is Southern Arizona’s annual tourism and travel publication. It is distributed every November in the Green Valley News and throughout the year at key locations, including hotels, real estate offices, Chamber of Commerce offices, and visitor centers across the areas covered in the publication, from Nogales to Sahuarita. Additional distribution points include Tucson and Phoenix international airports, as well as hotel and tourism locations from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon.
The magazine was designed by production manager Graham Harrington. Content was produced by the Green Valley News editorial team, led by editor Dan Shearer. Advertising sales were coordinated by sales manager Sarah Keith and publisher Dru Sanchez.
The American Advertising Awards is the advertising industry's largest and most representative competition, with over 200 categories covering all aspects of advertising; and 50,000 entries every year in the local contests. Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation, the local Tucson American Advertising Awards is the first of a three-tiered, national competition. Winners from the first round advance to the District competition. District winners are forwarded to the National competition.
