Gustav : St. Tammany Parish update

Citizens will be able to reenter St. Tammany Parish at 6 a.m., Wednesday, September 3. 

“If citizens of St. Tammany want to return tomorrow, please feel free to return tomorrow morning. Remember that there may be no electricity at your home.  If you return, bring food, water, fuel, ice, flashlights and other supplies. The electric companies are working hard to restore power but it may take five or more days for full restoration.  The utilities in some areas were hard hit.”

Businesses may also not be open to provide services, such as fuel and groceries.  If you return to St. Tammany please be prepared for that possibility.  
 
Charter Communications is up serving most of eastern St. Tammany.  They are working to repair the main connection to the western part of the parish.  Channels 10 and 13 will be returned to the air as soon as possible.
