Half Moon Bay Review staff worked an "energizer" station

Half Moon Bay Review staff worked an “energizer” station as part of a nationwide effort to get commuters out of their cars and onto their bicycles. The effort particularly resonates in the health-conscious California Bay Area where the drive to work can be the worst part of the day.

From 6:30 to 9 a.m. on May 12, Review publisher Debra Hershon, advertising representative Louise Strutner, administrative assistant Sonia Myers and sportswriter Mark Foyer worked a table along the Coastal Trail north of Half Moon Bay. They handed out healthy snacks, coffee and a variety of giveaways gathered from Bike to Work Day sponsors. The Review gave those who stopped a newspaper and subscription deal.

Similar energizer stations were scattered all over the area. National Bike to Work Week is May 16 through 20.
