Bill McCarver

Argus Observer Publisher John Dillon officially announced this week that Bill McCarver has been appointed the new circulation manager of the Argus Observer. McCarver replaces former Circulation Manager Joe Rodriguez, who retired late summer. McCarver started his new role Oct. 1. McCarver, an Ontario native, previously worked at the Argus in high school and while attending Treasure Valley Community College as a sports stringer. He left the Argus to attend Oregon State University, where he majored in journalism and theater. He owned his own retail business for 22 years before returning to the Argus in October of 2010, when he was hired as circulation district manager, whose duties primarily focused on circulation route management and paper delivery. As circulation manager McCarver now oversees all aspects of the circulation department, including marketing, sales and promotion of the newspaper. McCarver has been married to his wife, Kathy, for 31 years. They have one son.
