Argus Observer names new managing editor

She had been on the job for a little more than a week when editor Scott McIntosh announced he had been hired as editor of the Idaho Press-Tribune in Nampa.“I am very pleased that Kristi has accepted the managing editor position,” publisher John Dillon said. “Her experience as a reporter, designer and editor makes her a great fit for The Argus Observer. Under Kristi's leadership, I am confident that she will take us to the next level this year.”Before moving to the Western Treasure Valley, Albertson worked at the Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell, Mont. In her eight years at that newspaper, she worked as a reporter covering everything from business to crime to education. She was also a page designer and, most recently, the arts and entertainment editor.Albertson has won numerous awards for her work, including for in-depth/investigative reporting, breaking news coverage, front page design and headline writing, from the Montana Newspaper Association.Originally from Lakeview, Albertson attended the University of Montana-Missoula, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism.
