The Argus Observer in Ontario, Oregon, took home two awards in the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association’s 2018 Better Newspaper Contest. Argus entries were entered in dailies with 10,000 or less circulation. Editor Leslie Thompson won first place in Page One Design. Today’s News-Herald earned four statewide first-place awards for news and advertising quality in annual Arizona Newspapers Association contests last weekend. The newspaper earned a top award for departmental reporting and newswriting excellence, and an additional first-place award for editorial page excellence. PHOENIX -- The Sierra Vista Herald/ Bisbee Daily Review took home 17 awards in the Arizona Newspapers Association’s Better Newspapers contest.
